thegroup was founded in February 2005 by a team of enthusiastic professionals aiming to make history in the Romanian communication industry.

thegroup started by first launching a media agency, which grew to become a market leader, a position it maintains even 10 years after its launch.

In the first year of activity thegroup won 41 pitches, adding 35 companies to its portfolio and expanding its team from 5 to 50 people.

Despite breaking into a market where all major international agencies had already established their ground, thegroup had a turnover of 17 million euro in its first year, with an 80% increase in the following year amounting to 28 million euro and with further growing year after year. thegroup continued to grow even when the market started to contract significantly.
